A Stylish High Tech Fairy Tale as told by Franck Sorbier
French fashion designer Franck Sorbier put on a spectacular show during Paris Fashion Week, July 4, 2012. Sorbier's Haute Couture Fall-Winter 2012/2013 presentation combined, art, fashion and technology to retell a 17th century French fairytale by Charles Perrault - Donkeyskin (French: Peau d'Âne) . The designer uses 3D projection onto a simple white gown to tell the story.
In the rather dark tale, a widowed king carries out his late wife's dying wish and sets out to marry his daughter - the only woman who's beauty can match that of her own mother. The daughter tries to escape her predicament by following her fairy godmother's suggestion and demands the creation of a series of dresses in impossible designs..
